About Together We Can
The Together We Can – Hudson Valley Timebank was created to foster service to others and create a stronger community fabric within Hudson Valley communities. Remember when if you needed help with something, a friendly neighbor would volunteer to help without expecting monetary compensation? For many, depending on their age, the answer to that question, unfortunately, is no. The Together We Can Timebank was created to bring back that sense of community within the Hudson Valley. By utilizing the Together We Can Timebank website: www.togetherwecan.timebanks.org, people can log acts of service and get help with things that they may need in return – all without relying on money to accomplish their needs. |

How does timebanking work?
Everyone in our community has something to offer. Timebanking starts by offering your skillset to help someone else who needs your services. Everyone's time is worth the same.

When you help someone you earn time credits through the Timebank. One hour of help is worth one time credit.
|
Once you have one or more time credits, you can exchange those to get someone's help with something you need.
|
As more and more people join the Timebank a community of time bankers is formed which allows greater opportunities for people to get the help they need.

The Together We Can Timebank started in Newburgh in 2018. We joined forces with The Hudson Valley Hour Exchange in 2020 and now cover 6 counties in the Hudson Valley (Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Rockland, Sullivan, and Putnam). We are a small project with big ambitions! As it is difficult to get volunteers to travel to so many community events in the Hudson Valley, we are seeking community ambassadors to act as contact points and coordinators for individuals cities and communities within the Hudson Valley. If you are interested, please contact us. We will teach you administrative controls within our system and help you build the Together We Can Timebank in your own city or community!
